HOODLEM KINTSUGI

For those who like being horizontal, Melbourne duo Hoodlem have just released a slow jam that makes ideal laid back listening. Entitled ‘Kintsugi’, an ancient Japanese process of fixing crockery with gold dust, the track plays a fascinating metaphor for broken hearts and bad relationships. Wandering bass sits at the heart of ‘Kintsugi’ as everything else dances overhead, bound together by angry yet softly delivered vocals. A fresh take on R&B, Hoodlem have stolen our approval. - SJ
